Tsion Mekonen Hailu

Tsion Mekonen Hailu has been serving as Co-Chair at the Bioeconomy Coalition of Africa on the Policy and Governance Working Group and as a Project Coordinator with a consulting firm. She has been involved in the Solarizing Community Water Supply Project, which contributes to climate action and reversing the impacts of climate change. At Nextgen for Earth, She leads Ethiopia chapter. Her role includes organizing and mobilizing youth to undertake climate action initiatives, creating awareness in local communities, schools, and social functions on the impacts of climate change and possible solutions. In addition, she promotes indigenous knowledge and facilitates the intergenerational transfer of climate wisdom from elders to youth.
