Prof Maria Ameria Viteri

Prof María Amelia Viteri is a Senior Advisor and Mentor at NextGen for Earth where she builds capacity for young scientist and provides advisory services to the organization. She holds a Ph.D. in Cultural Anthropology from American University in Washington, D.C., with a focus on race, gender and social justice. She also earned a master’s in social sciences with a specialization in Gender and Development. Her work spans gender equality, Inclusive rights, migration and displacement, global inequities, and structural violence. A prolific author in both English and Spanish, Viteri bridges academic insight with public policy impact, shaping critical conversations across disciplines and borders. She has led pioneering research into the complex issues faced by underserved and vulnerable communities across Latin America, the Caribbean, the United States and beyond.
