Capacity Building

At NextGen for Earth, we believe that knowledge is the foundation for lasting environmental change. Our capacity-building efforts focus on empowering healthcare workers, children, and early-career researchers to take action on climate change and environmental protection.

Building Capacity of Healthcare Workers (HCWs)

We train healthcare workers on the impacts of climate change on their practice, patient care, waste management, and environmental protection. By equipping them with this knowledge, we empower them to become environmental stewards within their workplaces and communities.

Greening the Next Generation

We engage school children, especially in primary schools, to raise awareness about global warming and the importance of protecting the environment. We encourage them to plant trees and adopt sustainable habits—helping shape a generation that values and defends nature.

Strengthening Early-Career Researchers

We mentor young and early-career researchers by involving them in practical research, offering opportunities to co-author publications, and providing refresher courses on environmental topics. We also support them with grant writing skills to help them secure funding and generate evidence that informs climate action. Through these capacity-building programs, we are growing a new wave of climate-smart leaders and changemakers committed to building a greener, healthier future for all.

Growing Environmental Mentees and Ambassadors

We mentor environmental mentees and ambassadors, equipping them with climate knowledge to mobilize their communities for action. Together, we are growing a movement for a greener, more sustainable future.

We are empowering the next generation for a sustainable future.
We are documenting traditional early weather warning methods.
We are documenting climate change’s impact on maternal and reproductive health rights.
We are documenting mitigation and adaptation strategies in health facilities across LMICs.
We collaborate and support researchers with approved protocols to collect data, analyse, write and publish
We are mapping the impacts of climate change on aging populations.
We are conducting systematic reviews on healthcare workers’ knowledge of heat-related health risks.
We are training, educating, and building capacity in research.
